A beautifully crafted immersive experience
Tracy Frayne
There is something to be said for sitting in silence on an ancient rock in the middle of the Karoo at first light. Watching the sun come up over the distant mountains, feeling a crisp breeze on your face, and just, well, being.
No expectations, no agenda, no to do list, no idea even what the time was. Just simply being there. And being given the space to be with myself. Fully and truly.
Going into this Inventure, I had no preconceived notions about what I thought I might “get out of it”. In fact, I actively chose not to have any – I just wanted to go and experience whatever it was that Julie had planned.
It turned out to be a beautifully crafted mix of movement, breath, creativity, thoughtful words and quiet moments enhanced by being completely immersed in the pristine vast openness that is the Karoo, pretty much everything that has been lacking in my life of late. Life is so busy. So relentless. To just stop and “be” was an incredible gift.
I came away with my soul enlivened. I felt calm. Peace. It was like a return to myself – one I didn’t know I even needed!
I didn’t want to leave.
And I will most certainly go again!
