Saying yes is the first courageous act
Saying yes is the first courageous act. An acceptance to enter voluntarily into the unknown
When we are humbled by the elements – earth, air, fire and water – we are eased into our vulnerability and invited to explore the undiscovered parts of our story. Within this context, we tend to access, enter and express these parts of ourselves with greater ease when resting in the unfamiliar.
I believe that to experience our aloneness in the unfamiliarity of others offers a different quality of freedom.
United in our unspoken shared intention to arrive in an unknown space and place, welcomes a freedom cradled in an unexpected sense of community that is formed through our shared experience.
When we arrive in our aloneness we are reminded of our togetherness beyond history, known constructs and perceptions. We begin to experience the essence and depth of ourselves and welcome the freedom of its expression in its various shapes and forms.
Connection is experienced within the in-between, through conversations and sharing that organically unfolds as we witness ourselves in the story of another.
Laughter, tears and tea shared together are the binding ingredients of community.
